Medically Transitioning
Transitioning is a difficult task to undertake and is fraught with risks and potential harm. Most GPs in the UK are unlikely to help on their own, although you can check the resources below to see if a GP in your area has been marked as "trans-safe".
In East Sussex, we are also fortunate to have access to an NHS pilot scheme (Sussex Gender Service; SGS) specifically providing services to transgender people, but unfortunately only patients who were on the GIC referral list before March 2023, so there is still a long wait. In the meantime, we also have an NHS GP surgery in Brighton (WellBN's Trans Health Hub) which offers outpatient services to anyone in the county who can provide help with prescriptions and health monitoring on an interim basis.
There are endless resources and guides out there so we haven't written our own, but we have included links to ones we've found useful!
